Maintaining your eucalyptus chair

Your chair arrives impregnated with a tinted oil whose concentration varies according to the wood species. A slight residue may remain: remember to wipe it with a cloth before first use. No need to reapply oil immediately, you can wait until the end of summer.

As eucalyptus is a living material, its appearance naturally evolves over time. Some cracks may appear: this is normal and adds to the authentic charm of hardwood. To preserve your furniture in the long term, regular maintenance is essential.

Daily: remove leaves, stagnant water and dust. Clean stains and food residues with soapy water using a soft sponge.

Twice a year (spring and late summer): wash your chair thoroughly, let it dry completely, then apply a thin layer of oil. Check the weather: no rain should be forecast for the next 24 hours.

If your chair has been heavily exposed to rain showers, the surface fibers may swell and make the wood rough. Lightly sand with fine sandpaper to restore a smooth surface, then apply a coat of oil to restore the original color.

Oil protects your furniture from stains, pollution, bad weather and mold. If you prefer to let your chair age naturally without maintenance, it will develop an elegant silvery patina. Note: without oil, the wood loses its protection.

Usage precautions

Winterize your chair protected from humidity, in a cool and ventilated place. Prefer polyester covers rather than PVC.

Avoid direct exposure to excessive heat.
