Maintaining your eucalyptus furniture

During manufacturing, your chairs are covered with a tinted oil whose impregnation varies depending on the wood species. A slight residue may persist: remove it with a cloth before first use. No need to reapply oil immediately, you can wait until the end of summer.

Being a living material, eucalyptus naturally evolves over time and some cracks may appear. This is normal and adds to the authentic charm of this hardwood. To preserve its sturdiness and weather resistance, regular maintenance is recommended.

Daily maintenance tips:

Remove leaves, stagnant water and dust regularly

Clean stains and food residue with soapy water and a sponge

For stubborn dirt, use a small stiff brush

Seasonal maintenance:

In spring and at the end of summer, clean your furniture thoroughly and let it dry completely. Then apply a thin layer of oil, making sure it won't rain within the next 24 hours.

If your chair has been heavily exposed to rain showers, the surface fibers may swell and become rough. Lightly sand with fine-grit sandpaper to restore a smooth appearance, then apply a coat of oil to restore the original color.

The oil protects your furniture from stains, pollution, weather and mold. If you prefer to let your eucalyptus age naturally without oil maintenance, it will develop an elegant silver patina. Note that it will then no longer be protected.

Winterize your furniture sheltered from humidity, in a cool and ventilated place. Prefer polyester covers rather than PVC
